CORNWALL -- Cornwall Library will present In The Nature of the Future: Elizabeth Kolbert in conversation with Gillian Blake, a free program on Zoom, on March 6 from 5 to 6 p.m.

Registration is required online at the library’s events/programs page: https://cornwalllibrary.org/events.

Writer Kolbert will speak with her longtime editor, Blake, a Cornwall resident, about the process between writers and editors, as well as the contents of her new book “Under a White Sky: The Nature of the Future,” a follow-up to her Pulitzer Prize-winning last book, “The Sixth Extinction.” The new book “delves into how the very sorts of human interventions that have imperiled our planet are increasingly seen as the only hope for its salvation,” a library announcement said

Kolbert is also the author of “Field Notes from a Catastrophe: Man, Nature, and Climate Change.” She lives in Williamstown, Mass., with her husband and children.

Blake is senior vice president, publisher, and editor-in-chief at Crown, a division of Penguin Random House. Over the course of her career, she has worked with Andy Cohen, Sheila Heti, Rob Lowe, Jaron Lanier, Russell Brand, Anthony Doerr, Kate Walbert, Peggy Orenstein, Harold Bloom, George Howe Colt and Adrian Nicole LeBlanc.

Books may be purchased in advance from The House of Books in Kent, 4 N. Main St., at 860-927-4104.
