TORRINGTON — KidsPlay Children’s Museum at 61 Main Street is holding an “Out of This World” winter break through Feb. 21 during the museum’s hours of operation, an announcement said.

The space theme was inspired by Perseverance, NASA’s Mars Rover that is landing on Thursday, Feb. 18. The nine days of winter break will revolve around exploring hands-on STEM activities, games and experiments.

On Presidents Day, Feb. 15, the museum will begin gearing up for the landing by exploring the two presidents that were most influential in starting the space program and man landing on the moon.

Winter break at KidsPlay is designed for children and caregivers to share quality time learning and exploring together. Admission is $8 per person. Members and children under one are admitted for free.

February hours are Wednesday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.; Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.; Sunday, noon to 4 p.m.

Special openings: Monday, Feb 15, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.; Tuesday, Feb 16, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. (Last tickets sold an hour prior to closing.)
