MORRIS — The summer reading program, a popular annual event hosted by the Morris Public Library, kicked off with an ice-cream social on June 18, with readers of all ages signing up. Each level received their own card with appropriate activities: Pre-K to grade 6 will explore the universe with summer hours of galactic reading; teens will play space bingo, while adults will compete in interplanetary Tic-Tac-Toe.

Participants have the opportunity to win prize baskets and all are welcome to a free magic show, sponsored by the Friends of the Morris Library, at the conclusion. Christina the Magician will appear on Wednesday, August 14, presenting sleight of hand with a touch of comedy for the grand finale of the summer reading program.

Morris Public Library is located at 4 North Street in Morris. Call 860-567-7440 or visit for more information.
