Pie sale benefits local food banks

A variety of pies will be offered by the First Congregational Church of Washington. The proceeds will benefit local food banks.

WASHINGTON — The First Congregational Church of Washington will hold a Harvest Pie Sale on Sunday, Nov. 22 from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Parish House, according to an email from the church.

The church is located at 6 Kirby Road on the Green in Washington. Pies will be available while supply lasts. Reservations/pre-orders are recommended and can be made either by email to Admin@firstchurchwashingtonct.org, or by calling the church office and leaving a message at 860-868-0569, extension 10.

Fresh apple, pumpkin and pecan pies will be available for a minimum donation of $20 per pie. They are delicious and made with love. At our pie auctions in the past, some folks have donated over $200 for a single pie.

Continuing our support for organizations that provide assistance to food insecure families, 100 percent of proceeds from this sale will go to local food banks. Purchasing a homemade pie on Nov. 22 will not only put a pie on your table but will help put food on the tables of neighbors in need.

For more information, contact the church office at 860-868-0569.
