WOODBURY — The Pomperaug Valley Garden Club will host Professor Christopher Tuccio for a lecture on “The Garden Design Pyramid: Levels of Importance for Establishing a Beautiful Landscape” at 10 a.m., Tuesday, April 13, via Zoom.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the club now sponsors speakers at monthly Zoom meetings. Guests are welcome to join this free presentation by sending an email request to guest@PomperaugValleyGC.org before Sunday, April 11.

Tuccio developed the garden design pyramid as a tool, intended for professionals and home-garden enthusiasts alike who wish to better understand the important elements of design within the landscape and use them to create robust, beautiful, and diverse environments, an announcement said.

Tuccio is a tenured professor, interim dean of the STEM Division and program coordinator of the horticulture and landscape design degrees at Naugatuck Valley Community College. He is also the owner and operator of www.draftscapes.com, which is an open educational resource for garden design and landscape businesses. He holds a bachelor of science in landscape architecture from Cornell University and a master’s degree in landscape architecture in urban design, specializing in the cultural landscapes of China and Japan, from Harvard University.
