WASHINGTON — ASAP! will host its 7th annual Celebration of Young Photographers on Sunday, Nov. 5 from 2 to 4 p.m. at South Farms in Morris.

Students from grades 6-12 were invited to submit a photograph reflecting this year's theme Every picture has a story to tell... What’s YOUR story? Sixty-two images were selected from almost 200 submissions from 32 schools across the state.

A prize will be awarded to the Top Select from each of the two age groups: grades 6-8 and grades 9-12 and to the teacher with the most submissions from their school.

The top select winners are Kristyna Patkova from The Gunnery for her photo “The Desire for Freedom” for grades 9-12 and Simon Rosenberg from King Philip Middle School in West Hartford for his photo “Birdbath Reflection” for grades 6-8. Honorable Mention goes to Jessica Posmantier from Danbury High School for her photo “Blueberry” for grades 9-12 and Evelyn Chacon from Broadview Middle School in Danbury for her photo “Liberty” for grades 6-8.

The winning teacher is Leeza Desjardins of Nonnewaug High School in Woodbury, with 66 submissions.

Photographs will be for sale at the event. Admission is free and light fare & drinks will be served.
