TORRINGTON — The Warner Stage Company will hold auditions for the Children's Dream Choir in “Joseph and The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat” June 8 at 2 p.m. Auditions are by appointment only.

The production is directed and choreographed by Meredith Porri with musical direction by Dan Porri, and will be presented at the Warner Theatre beginning July 27 for five performances.

The stage company is seeking an ensemble of up to 50 children, ages 7-13, for the “Dream Choir” in “Joseph and The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.” This ensemble of young performers pop in and out of the world and story of Joseph. The choir is featured in “Prologue,” “Close Every Door To Me” and “Pharaoh Story,” as well as being on stage for the entire production.

All children will be expected to sing from the first two verses of “Any Dream Will Do,” which will be sung as part of a small group. No child auditioning will have to sing alone if they do not wish to.

Auditioners without an appointment will be seen as time allows. Video auditions are accepted for those unable to attend on the scheduled dates.

Rehearsals will be held three nights per week on Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 7-10 p.m., starting May 28. There will also be two rehearsals on Wednesday evenings, May 29 and July 3, because of holiday conflicts.

Tech week rehearsals will be Sunday through Thursday, July 21-25. Hold July in case an additional rehearsal is needed. The pickup rehearsal will be held on Thursday, August 1, 2019.

Audition appointment spaces are limited and filled on a first-come, first served basis. Anyone auditioning must have all conflicts for the rehearsal period available and note on your audition form. If you are unable to make the mandatory tech week rehearsals and/or midweek pickup rehearsal, you will not be cast. The Warner Stage Company is a regional community theatre company and does not offer compensation or housing for performers.
