NEW MILFORD — Gallery 25 and Creative Arts Studio presents new artists, a new “Celebrate” Show and special events for this Holiday Season. Sponsored by the New Milford Commission on the Arts, the gallery’s new artwork consists of paintings, photographs, jewelry, fused glasswork, pottery, weaving, wood turning plus holiday cards and ornaments, according to an email from the gallery.
The artwork will be on display at Gallery 25 at 11 Railroad Street in New Milford, from Nov. 27 through Jan. 9, 2021. Gallery 25 is also participating in Small Business Saturday on Nov. 28 and Artist Sunday on Nov. 29. For more information visit www.gallery25ct.com.
Four new artists have joined the gallery: Roberta Ahuja, of Newtown, a potter; Leigh Graham, of Southbury, a jeweler and weaver; Linda T. Hubbard, of Sherman, a fine art photographer, and Cathleen Nardo, of Danbury, a pastelist. They join 11 other artists from the communities of Bethel, Danbury, New Milford, Newtown, Sherman, Southbury and Warren. Each of the artists has brought in new treasures for the Holiday Show “Celebrate”: from large to small paintings and photographs; jewelry including necklaces, earrings, bracelets and pins; pottery of mugs, bowls, dishes and planters; fused glass platters and dishes; hand woven scarves; wooden bowls and vases; and holiday cards and ornaments. The show “Celebrate” opens Nov. 27 and closes Jan. 9, 2021.
On Small Business Saturday, Nov. 28, the gallery will feature a painting demonstration by Adele Moros and a beading demonstration by Leigh Graham from 12:30 to 3 p.m.
On Artist Sunday, Nov. 29, Gallery 25 will be joining a nationwide campaign encouraging consumers to shop with artists and crafters, designed to make the Sunday after Thanksgiving the most profitable day of the year for artists. It follows Black Friday, and Small Business Saturday, alongside Cyber Monday and Giving Tuesday, the largest shopping weekend of the year. Think of Artist Sunday being like Black Friday or Small Business Saturday but for the arts.
Gallery 25 is also highlighting Tiny Treasures, small in size but strong in creativity and talent. Every piece is unique and hand crafted by our members. Purchasing a handmade treasure for friends and family is a special way of showing your love, friendship and gratitude.
During our Celebrate Show, visitors will have the opportunity to win an original piece of art by one of our Gallery 25 artists. There will be one drawing each week through December. Visitors simply need to enter their name, phone number and email to have their choice of a selection of paintings created at Gallery 25.
