LAKEVILLE — The 13th annual “Blue & Gold at The White” runs Friday to Sunday, May 18 to 20, with an opening artists’ reception Friday from 5 to 7 p.m., and an awards presentation at 6.

The art show, a showcase for artwork by students at Housatonic Valley Regional High School, is also a fundraiser for the art department, according to a news release from organizers.

Eighty percent of the proceeds from the sale of the artwork goes to the student artists whose work sells at the opening, and the balance goes to the school’s art program. This year’s show covers a broad spectrum of mediums, including acrylics, watercolors, graphite, pen and ink, charcoal drawings, mixed media collage, digital designs, black-and-white and color photography, animation and sculptures in many mediums.

There are several ongoing programs the “Blue and Gold” supports, including a guest artist program, scholarships for summer art classes and a gallery intern program where current students help curate professional art shows in the school’s gallery.

Additional sponsors for the “Blue & Gold” are John Borden, William Pitt Sotheby’s International Realty; Deano’s Pizza; the Sharon Woman’s Club and The Hills. Proceeds from the sale are go for art awards and scholarships, to underwrite the cost of field trips, and to support the new exhibition space at the high school library.

On Saturday and Sunday, the gallery will be open from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Purchased art will be available on Sunday after 2 p.m.
