MORRIS — As part of a regular series of programs at the Morris Public Library, Elizabeth Aleksinas, owner of Bramasole Yoga and Wellness Center, entertained a full and lively crowd of poetry lovers on Sept. 26. She recently published a book of her poetry, titled “The Spaces in Between.”
Her opening poem of the same name, follows:
The Spaces in Between
Between every beat of my heart
Between every sound of my breath
Between my thoughts
Lies a quiet unchartered space in between
A space, a gap, a release
Of all things that no longer serve my soul.
My need to hold on
Attachments, fears, doubts
Have no place here.
Time just an illusion.
— Elizabeth Aleksinas
Elizabeth revealed she wrote this poem and the others in the slim volume, when she was just 10 years old. She was inspired to publish her poems after listening to local Morris author David Fisher speak about his book “Food Zoo.”
She is uncertain that she will be writing another book any time soon since she and her teachers provide 20 fitness classes each week, including a Fast Break Fitness Circuit Training class that only lasts 30 minutes. A separate work-out room at her facility features gym equipment and another room offers unlimited spin classes.
Her yoga studio was previously at another location in Morris and the new, greatly expanded facility is a dream come true. The remodeled and enhanced building at the intersection of Rte. 63-S and Rte. 109 in Morris was formerly her husband Chuck’s childhood home. Guest speakers will also be presented in the new facility.
Of one of the speakers, Elizabeth said, “Since we have the perfect space for it now, we are welcoming popular spiritual medium Karen Kilmartin on Oct. 17, beginning at 6 p.m. for an Evening with the Medium which involves a gallery reading. The event will be limited to 13 attendees.”
