Waterbury Chorale to present Christmas concerts

The 80 member Waterbury Chorale, in its 53rd concert season will present two Christmas concerts in early December.

WATERBURY — The 80-member Waterbury Chorale, in its 53rd concert season will present two Christmas concerts in early December, conducted by Joseph J. Jacovino, Jr. and accompanied by the Waterbury Choral Festival Orchestra.

The first concert begins at 7:30 p.m. on Dec. 6, at Saint Anthony of Padua Church, 49 South St., Litchfield.

The second presentation is set for 4 p.m. on Dec. 8, at Johns On-The-Green, 16 Church St., Waterbury.

This holiday concert will feature an international collection of favorites from Mark Hayes, J.S. Bach, Ivo Antognini, Randal Alan Bass, Ralph Vaughn Williams, among others.

Tickets are $25 in advance and $30 at the door, and can be purchased online at Waterburychorale.org, from chorale members, or by calling 860-945-6890.

The Waterbury Chorale was established in 1967 to provide an opportunity for singers from the Greater Waterbury area of Connecticut to enjoy and perform outstanding musical literature, according to its website.

Current members reside in many Connecticut communities, including Beacon Falls, Bethlehem, Cheshire, Farmington, Goshen, Hamden, Litchfield, Meriden, Middlebury, Middletown, Morris, Naugatuck, New Milford, Newtown, Oakville, Oxford, Prospect, Redding, Southbury, Terryville, Thomaston, Torrington, Waterbury, Watertown, Wolcott, and Woodbury.
