HARWINTON — A garage fire escalated to a two-alarm response Sunday morning as flames spread to the home, fire officials said.

A call came in for a reported vehicle fire inside the attached garage of a Campville Hill Road home around 10:45 a.m., according to the volunteer fire department.

Officials said the first unit on scene found the vehicle fully engulfed with flames spreading to the home. While the other crews were en route, a second alarm was called, sending additional personnel to the scene and initiating mutual aid.

“The fire was contained mostly to the garage area, but the rest of the house had heavy smoke throughout,” officials said.

The fire was under control by 11:20 a.m. Officials said there were no injuries to the occupants or any firefighters.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
