PLYMOUTH — Three school staff members have been placed on leave as police said Monday they are investigating an “incident” that was reported to them in September.

In a brief statement, Plymouth police said the investigation is ongoing, but said it would have no further comment until the probe is completed.

According to the Hartford Courant, three staff members, including the principal of Plymouth Center School, have been placed on leave pending the investigation.

The school district released a statement Monday night, confirming three staff members had been placed on leave but did not identify the employees or where they worked.

“Since these actions are part of a pending personnel matter, further details cannot be provided at this time,” the press release stated. “As a school district, we can assure you that these measures are being taken in order to permit these personnel matters to be addressed appropriately and in order to ensure that the education of our students can continue without disruption.”

“The interests of our students will always be our top priority and our actions will continue to be guided in their best interests,” the release stated.
