Southbury church to give virtual talk on racial justice

SOUTHBURY — The United Church of Christ, 283 Main St. North in Southbury, is having a Zoom webinar titled: “Where Do We Stand? Racial Justice in Southbury,” on Sunday, Jan. 17, from noon to 1 p.m.

Speakers include Dr. Erin Birden, teacher in residence for diversity and cultural competency in the Pomperaug Regional School District 15; and Rabbi Eric Polokoff, spiritual leader at the B’Nai Israel synagogue in Southbury.

Polokoff will talk about the state of racial justice, both past and present in the town, and efforts to spread racial justice for a better future.
