SOUTHBURY — A resident had an unwelcome visitor in her bed last night — and it had four stubby legs and a long, prehensile tail.
While working the midnight shift, Officer William Jacques and Cpl. Anthony Armeno from the Southbury Police Department responded to a residence, where a woman said she found an opossum curled up in her bed.
Using a soft laundry hamper, Jacques and Armeno were able to “carefully and strategically rescue the cute little creature from his newly warm abode,” the Southbury Police Department said Thursday on Facebook.
They then released the opossum back into its natural habitat.
