TORRINGTON — Pinewoods Health and Racquet Club recently reopened, after the COVID-19 pandemic closure months ago.
Pinewoods specializes in tennis programming. It has been proven by the United States Tennis Association that tennis is “by far the safest social distancing sport of any,” said owner Bob Cofer. “Now is the time to try tennis if you haven't, or to get back into it if you've been away for a while.”
Pinewoods offers its popular and inexpensive “Back To Basics" adult beginner tennis special year round. The program is geared for complete beginners and also players who have played a little in the past and want to get back into the game.
Back to Basics runs for 12 weeks and individuals can sign up for the program at any time. Participants will be playing real games by the end of the program.
Pinewoods also offers junior tennis classes for children from ages 4 to 18, beginners to advanced players. Juniors get 25 percent off for their first session of clinics.
