A milling and paving project is underway on Route 202 between Torrington and Litchfield, the state Department of Transportation announced.
The work will occur along a 5-mile section of Route 202, from the recently constructed bridge on Route 202 in Litchfield over the Bantaam River, to Walnut Street in Torrington.
The work that began this week to replace damaged catch basins tops, will be followed with milling of the existing pavement surface and pavement repairs starting around Sept. 21 and continuing for approximately two weeks.
Final paving will begin around Oct. 5 for approximately two weeks, followed with pavement markings.
The project is scheduled to be completed by Oct. 31
Various lane closures are planned between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m. Night work and weekend work may occur as needed to keep on schedule.
